Have yourself a Walking Dead party

Zombie hide and seek

You've waited so long for Rick, Daryl, Michonne & Co to make their return. So, why shouldn't you celebrate now The Walking Dead's back?

Here's some ways to have the best Walking Dead party ever.

1. Dress up as a zombie.

Hair should be wild looking and all tangled. Well, when was the last time you saw a zombie in the hair salon? Em. never? Yep. That's because the undead have only thing in mind - brains, must eat brains and feast on human flesh.

Clothes should be torn like you've been ravaged by a pack of wild dogs.Check out the outfits here.
Don't forget the teeth. Gleaming whiter gnashers don't cut it in the zombie world. What does is teeth rotting and covered in blood like the gums are always bleeding.

Eyes should be unfocussed and should lack the understanding and self-awareness that makes us human. This can be achieved by weaing contact lenses.

Tip - If you're dressing up as a zombie the less sleep you have the better. Zombies have a haggard look.

Other things you will need -

a prop limb or even better, human heart
For tips on how to create that zombie look, check out this amazing video.

2. Get some zombie decorations.
Unfortunately, none of us can have this.
So, how about making up some balloons?

Or, getting yourself a zombie hand?

3. Make yourself some zombie cupcakes
Where would any WD party be without some suitable eats? Check out this YouTube video to see how to decorate your zombie cupcakes.

There are plenty of other foods you could try that wouldn't look out of place on a zombie's dinner table (if there was such a thing). Stuff like -

Hot dogs cos they look like fingers. Check these ones out. Aren't they awesome cos they look like severed fingers? Those ones were made in honor of the Harold & Kumar movie. See here for details.

Sausage and mashed potato - the sausages look like legs or fingers.

Cocktail sausages - instead of just sticks, make little crosses.

Spaghetti bolognese - if you use a lot of red food dye, they'll looks like human intestines.

Want some more inspiration? Check out these awesome cakes.

4. Play The Walking Dead drinking game
Any time you hear the word "walker" it's drink time.
Any time you hear the word "walker" you have to take a drink (soft drinks can be used if you're too young for booze. After the next commercial break somebody else gets to choose the word. Possible words governor, Westbury, damn, ammo, infected and bitten.

Drink up, you're Maggie.

Game 2 - In this game, everybody gets to be a character. Write down a list of characters, on individual pieces of paper, roll them up and place in a bowl. Each person gets to pick one. Whenever that name comes up the person who's that character has to take a drink.

Things to do until The Walking Dead returns

This is what we feel like doing

We hate waiting and when we're waiting for The Walking Dead to return, that goes double.

So, what can we do to pass away the time, as we suffer from Rick, Daryl, Michonne and zombie withdrawal symptoms?

Well, we could plan our own Walking Dead party...stay tuned, details coming soon, including the Daryl/Rick drinking game...

But, while we're waiting we could while away the days by doing the following -

Get Rick's shirt. I found this one on ebay.

1. Dress like Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon. Or, if you can't get someone else to and stand behind them.
These aren't bread sticks, these are are katanas like the sword Michonne wields.

2.Go around your local big store pretending the baguette bread sticks are a katana like Michonne's and practice chopping folk's heads off. If anyone says anything, tut and say "zombie," like that explains everything.

Zombie checkpoint sign.

3. Set up a zombie checkpoint outside your local shopping mall/school and stop folk asking to see their arms and ankles. If anyone asks why, say, "I need to check if you've been bitten."

Stage your own zombie battle.

4. Have a zombie battle in the forest using plastic toy guns and swords. Do not do this in an area where they all look like Daryl and have crossbows.

Freak out your workmates by saying you've been bitten.

5. Turn up at work/school/a family party with ripped clothes, covered in fake blood (get one of those fake blood capsules) with scratches and bites and say, "I've been bitten. These guys came out of nowhere and started eating the guy who was with me. Never seen anything like it. Better sit down, I feel faint."

6. Put up makeshift signs around town with crude drawings saying things like "ZOMBIES - STEER CLEAR OF THE INFECTED" and "ZOMBIE VIRUS - STAY AWAY."

Or, you could always watch The Walking Dead marathon this weekend. But, hey, that doesn't mean you can't do all the other stuff as well.

7. Read this zombie novel.
Zombies in the snow.
No guns.
A ragtag of survivors battle with each other and the dead bastards to survive.

What next for The Walking Dead?

The Walking Dead will return on February 2013, but what's going to happen next in the show?

Here's the things I want to see....

1. Daryl and Merle to beat the crap out of each other and use it as a ruse to escape...

Who says the show isn't big enough for both of them?

The actors who play Daryl and Merle Dixon will reprise their roles in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first-person survival game set prior to the events of AMC’s popular TV show.

2. Andrea to stop being the dumb blonde and to see the Governor for what he is...

Open your eyes, Andrea. He's a wrong 'un

and bring an axe down on his head to split it in two. Sadly, the Governor hasn't lived up to the comics or the hype (at least in my mind, although he's had his moments).

3. Morgan brilliantly played by Lennie James to re-enter the fray.

COME BACK MORGAN & DUANE

Let's find out how he and his son, Duane, who nearly split Rick's head open with a spade survived. Go on give us some hope. It was vintage zombie fare when Rick was holed up in Morgan's place summoning up the courage to send a bullet through zombie mom's brain.

4. Stop killing the black guy.

We've already lost T, we don't want to lose Tyreese.

T-Dog, who was continually starved of storylines, lasted longer than expected, but Tiny (ironically the big guy from the prison) lasted less time than it took for him to be introduced despite coming across as a character they could do a lot with.

Now Tyreese (played by The Wire star Chad L Coleman) has arrived with his band of survivors, do us a favour - don't kill the black guy.

Check out this great interview over at Collider.com withChad L Coleman and chant after me - "Don't kill Tyreese, don't kill Tyreese. Pretty, pretty please."

5. Give the survivors some hope.

The haven at Hershel's farm ended when they got swamped my zombies.

Lori didn't live long enough to see her baby. Hardly surprising when the tot was cut out of her.

The heaven that was Woodbury (at least in the zombie age) turned out to be a real life hell created by a man who turned out to be a psychopath and a madman.

I mean who tries to brush a zombie's hair? The walkers are decomposing.

6. Bring it on Michonne.

The best thing to happen to the show is this awesome, kick ass, katana wileding zombie assassin. In a show where the women seem to end up relying on men, she's a breath of fresh air. The only thing she needs is her mighty katana.
